Face Masks Required for Working
Over the weekend Florida government agencies have started to mandate wearing face coverings when going out in public. The order requires people to wear face coverings when working inside any essential business or when conducting any services.
This order has not been mandated in all counties where we have a presence yet but by acting out of extreme caution and preparing for this to become a state-wide requirement we are initiating this requirement at all facilities. Therefore, we need to ensure all employees still reporting to an office or working out in the field wears face covering at all times.
Being our South Florida locations are first impacted by this new mandate the following procedures are now in place:
- South Florida Field employees – COVID-19 kits have been prepared by the Safety Department and will be distributed accordingly to each department’s manager to give out to their team. The kit contains a pair of nitrile gloves, a pair of booties, a silk face mask or face hoo rag and a KN95 respirator. Contact the Safety Department if you need to refill.
- South Florida Office employee – Washable masks will be provided to office personnel and distributed accordingly to any office staff still reporting to an office in Fort Lauderdale. Please contact Christel Morizet-Davis in the 1950 building before reporting to work. She will provide you with instructions on how to retrieve your mask outside before going into any building at the Fort Lauderdale location. Office staff will be responsible for keeping your masks and washing it to ensure its cleanliness. Contact Christel if you need a replacement. If you are an office employee and need to visit a client site you will need to contact your manager about getting a KN95 respirator before your visit.
We are currently working to procure masks and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all our other sites. Once we have our plan in place we will be in further communication with our other sites on how to retrieve available PPE. Until such time the CDC has guidelines on how to make face masks at home. If you have any questions please contact HR or the Safety Department.
