Advanced Roofing Honored with 1st Place CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award for Bahamas Strong Relief Efforts

A commitment to the communities where we work and play has always been at the core of Advanced Roofing, especially during tough times. We are honored to have recently been recognized for this commitment with the CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award given by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and CNA, one of the largest U.S. commercial property and casualty insurance companies.

The award is in recognition of our work with Enterprise Palm Beach Inc. for The Bahamas Strong Foundation. The foundation was created after Hurricane Dorian struck the islands in September 2019, causing $3.4 billion in damage and leaving 70,000 people homeless. Advanced Roofing President and CEO Rob Kornahrens developed a coordinated effort to repair these homes with Gene Fall of Certified General Contractors and Rob Foote of Furman Insurance.

Joining their efforts were SPEC Building Materials Corp, which donated asphalt roof shingles, Tim Crawford of Crawford Roofing, Bob Fitzgerald of Weather-Tech Roofing Waterproofing, Tropical Roofing Products, GulfEagle Supply, and ICON Contracting Services. The team worked together to repair 30 homes and raised more than $500,000 in funding and supplies.

In addition to its work with The Bahamas Strong Foundation, Advanced Roofing also supported multiple initiatives to aid the Bahamas in its recovery, including Samaritan’s Purse, Hope for Hopetown, missionresolve.org, and Guy Harvey Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort. 100% of the proceeds from the Guy Harvey Bahamas Strong T-shirts we distributed to customers for the holidays also benefited relief efforts.

As part of the award, Advanced Roofing received $7,500 from CNA to donate to The Bahamas Strong Foundation. In addition, NRCA dedicated the proceeds of its Cyber Monday sale in November 2020 to The Foundation.

We are committed to supporting our neighbors in The Bahamas as they build the infrastructure needed to make the islands resilient to future storms.
