Advanced Roofing Captures Community Spirit Award in the 50th Anniversary Winterfest Boat Parade in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Marking a community milestone, Advanced Roofing captured the spirit of holiday celebrations with a pink Cadillac boat in the 50th Annual Winterfest Boat Parade this December.
With rock and roll music blaring from a 54-foot meter boat, Advanced Roofing was described by WSVN Channel 7 as a “legendary boat entrant.” The Advanced boat won awards including “Best of Show” in addition to capturing the hearts once again of over 1 million South Florida parade attendees. Prior to the region’s largest attended event, Advance’s entry was featured on the front page of the Sun-Sentinel newspaper.
“This is another way to give back to our community,” explains CEO Rob Kornahrens about the international event. “This was also a big year as we came off the pandemic and wanted to provide cheer for our employees, clients, and everyone in the region watching on television.”
Kornahrens, dressed as Elvis, was joined on the boat by his wife Maureen who was Marilyn Monroe; along with more than 20,000 watts of sound and a giant LED screen which featured videos of the real Elvis and icon Marilyn. The Advanced boat was decorated by employees and family.
“Our Cadillac boat was able to bring something unique to celebrate the traditional kickoff to the South Florida holiday season,” says Kornahrens. “Over the past three decades, our team has been able to deliver spectacular parade additions and this year marked another milestone.”
Previous entrants in the parade from Advanced Roofing included a “Bus Boat” and the famous Jungle Queen Boat. The boats are viewed on television broadcasts in Florida and in Boston with parade specials. “As the Winterfest Boat Parade has grown every year, Advanced Roofing has been committed to creating something different and spectacular,” added Kornahrens. “It is one of several ways we give back to the communities we serve throughout Florida.”
