In partnership with Siemens Corporation, Advanced Roofing and sister company Advanced Green Technologies completed the first city-owned solar farm for the City of Lake Worth, Florida. The 2 megawatt (MW) solar plant sits on a five-acre site of a former landfill. The ground-mounted solar array consists of 6,490 monocrystalline solar panels and is expected to generate about two percent of the city’s energy load – enough to power more than 230 homes per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than four million pounds. That’s the equivalent of taking 445 cars off the road.
